Urbanized Kickstarter Campaign
Friends, we’ve started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to help finish Urbanized. Kickstarter is a new crowd-funding platform that allows people to support creative projects by “backing” them with anything from $1 to $5,000, while getting great art and experiences in return.
Some of the rewards we’re offering to backers of Urbanized include downloads and DVDs of the finished film, a new Urbanized T-shirt designed by Build, the limited-edition Design Trilogy box set (featuring the “Neue” director’s cut of Helvetica), and even private screenings of Urbanized for your group or company, hosted by director Gary Hustwit.
The Kickstarter page also features a video with the first taste of footage from the film, so give it a watch and help us get this film up on the screen! And browse around too, there are hundreds of great new creative projects there.

I think Gary can of course ask for financial support but perhaps some sort of viewer investment would work as well. Say if I give you $25 it goes towards a free ticket when the film is launched?

Yeah Mark, that’s actually how the Kickstarter model works, you’re getting something. $10 for a digital download of the film when it comes out, $35 for a dvd and postcard set, etc.

I’ve forgot to tell I’ve known about this via kickstarter. Crowdfunding it’s not only a good way to produce but to promote projects all over the world.
I’m a crowdfunding fan, definitively.

gary, can’t wait for the dvd to come out, i pre ordered it already and rented it on itunes, fantastic! i’m upset i slept on the kickstarted thing…if you have any extra box sets laying around after they come out with all three films, please email me, i’d like one, but like i said, the kickstarter was already closed. :(
